I will be exhibiting some new work, and you will also see some old favourites. It is a wonderful opportunity to see some new work from fifteen artists and have a great day visiting a wonderful castle.
This ticket will also allow re-admission to the show for its duration and access to Deal Castle as a visitor. No smoking allowed on the premises. No dogs allowed, but assistance dogs welcome.

]]>Fifteen artists will be showing assemblage, painting, printmaking, photography, photomontage, mosaics, sculpture and textiles.
Come and meet me among the vibrant art quarters of Margate and nip across the road to the Turner Contemporary, where the four shortlisted artists for the 2019 Turner Prize will be on show.
My work will include images from Snowdon to the Kent coast, inspired by 17th Dutch landscape and seascape artists whom I found inspirational while studying the history of art in my early days at Medway College of Art
The monochrome images harp back to my love of magazines in the 60's and 70's such as The Sunday Times, The Observer magazine and Vogue. Shooting with manual focus lenses slows down my thought process and forces me to think about the composition and contrast of the image. Subdued colours, heavy clouds, mist and rain help to create the effect that I'm looking for in both monochrome and colour work.
The images of fish come from my love of sea angling and a desire to create a graphical image.

]]>Set in the grounds of the Pine Calyx, St Margaret's Bay musicians Stina Wilson (flute) and Andrey Debedev (guitar) took us on a musical journey through time and space, bringing to life works from a range of periods in the romantic grounds and within the Pines Calyx building throughout the evening. SEAs artists simultaneously created live art responding to the music and the environment of the beautiful grounds around them.
You can meet some of the artists at the South East Artists Summer Open Studios this weekend 8/9th July around Deal in their studios and at the Astor Theatre and the Deal Angling Club. Visit www.searts.co.uk for further information. http://martincherry.zenfolio.com/p368388480
]]>For the past 7 years South East Artists (seas) has organised a dynamic, stimulating and diverse Open Studios/ Art Trail event featuring new work by professional and amateur artists in conjunction with the Deal Festival of Music and Arts. This has partly been in response to the fact there is no central gallery space in Deal so artists have been creative and opened their own houses to exhibit their work and engage with the public.
Based in Deal and Walmer on the Kent coast artists open their studios to the public and invite you to meet them, view and discuss their work.
There are a total of 18 artists whose sculpture, paintings, conceptual art, screen prints, jewellery, photography, ceramics, fused glass are all part of these eclectic, festive occasions. Taking place on three consecutive weekends 1/2, 8/9, 15/16, July the Open Studio trail has become a successful event for both the community and the artists. Leaflets are available from retailers and bars within the Deal area or can be downloaded from the seas website at www.searts.co.uk.
We also organise exhibitions, Christmas fairs, market stalls throughout East Kent and people have become familiar with our reputation, logo and banners as symbols of good design.
In November we also have a pop up gallery in Deal, so look out for us!!! We look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy our work.
For further information visit www.searts.co.uk or email [email protected]
]]>Escape; Land, Sea and Sky is my first opportunity to share photographs of Deal and other coastal areas. Along with other images that show more of my abstract eye and the love for photography.
The photographs can be viewed at the Taphouse Bar Cafe, South Street, Deal from 9th March 2017.
There is also a private viewing on the evening of Wednesday 8th March. Updates and details can also be viewed on Facebook.
I hope you find my work intriguing more importantly inspiring.
